CANCER FOR COLLEGE
Taste to Educate Raises $70k
The third-year-event makes more great strides and raises important funds

Cancer for College staged its third annual Taste to Educate fundraising event in Seattle, Washington and granted $36,000 in college scholarships to cancer survivors from the Pacific Northwest and raised over $70,000 for future scholarships.
Our thanks to our hosts Greg Lill of DeLille Wineries and Philip Milhalski of Nell’s restaurant along with the 11 wineries that helped create the perfect atmosphere for giving.
Guests were treated to an evening of wine tasting along with food pairing provided by Milhalski, Bobby Moore of The Barking Frog, Wolfgang Puck catering and Metropolitan Market. Multiple scholarship recipients shared their stories of perseverance while battling cancer. The crowd was also entertained by a live band and the comedy of Sean Kent from “The Last Comic Standing.”
Our thanks goes out to Harborview Medical Center, Childrens Hospital of Seattle, AVEN Foundation, Metropolitan Market and Riedel for their outstanding support of this event.
We would also like to thank the participating wineries which included aMaurice, Beresan, Boudreaux Cellars, Januik, JM Cellars, Longshadows Vintners, Patit Creek Cellars, Seven Hills Winery, Syzygy and Tamarack Cellars.
